Winter Reset 2026

An afternoon of movement, stillness and connection

Our Story

Winter Reset began over a late lunch between two colleagues who had quietly become friends.

Maria and I met two years earlier at a Sound Bath workshop and quickly discovered an unlikely connection. She is a German lawyer with a passion for yoga and Pilates; I am a yoga teacher with a lifelong love of European languages and literature. Over the next two years, we found ourselves teaching at many of the same studios, occasionally catching up over coffee or lunch between classes.

During one of those lunches, Maria invited me to lead the sound bath for a Pilates event she was planning with another instructor. What started as a simple collaboration soon grew into something more. Ideas flowed back and forth over WhatsApp while she was trekking through the mountains of Peru, gradually taking shape into an experience we both believed people needed.

When our original venue unexpectedly fell through, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. We found an even more fitting home at The Ivy Room in Sea Point.

Drawing on my background in hospitality, I reached out to a number of women-led local brands whose values aligned with ours. Their generous support transformed the experience, adding thoughtful touches that made the day feel even more intentional and memorable.

Then, on a mild Saturday in July, a small community of women gathered to slow down. Together we moved, breathed, rested, listened, and connected. For a few hours, the pace of everyday life softened, making space for presence, restoration, and meaningful conversation.

Winter Reset became more than a single event. It marked the beginning of Love & Work's seasonal experiences—thoughtfully curated gatherings that invite people to pause, restore, and reconnect with themselves and with one another.
